The recently concluded India-Australia Test series saw a few controversies and the fallout has continued even after the end of the series.

Before the start of the series, India captain Virat Kohli spoke about how the Australian players were his good friends off the field, but he has changed his mind now.

When asked about the same at the post-match press conference after the end of the Dharamsala Test, the 28-year-old mentioned that he’s been proven wrong and he won’t say what he had said before the Pune Test ever again.

“No, it has changed. I thought that was the case, but it has changed for sure. As I said, in the heat of battle you want to be competitive but I’ve been proven wrong,” said Kohli.

“The thing I said before the first Test, that has certainly changed and you won’t hear me say that ever again.”

Former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, meanwhile, took to Twitter to express his displeasure over Kohli’s comments and tweeted that Ajinkya Rahane should stay on as India’s captain.
