  • Sourav Ganguly is now the President of CAB.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly feels that India could whitewash England in the five-match Test series that will commence between the two sides at Rajkot on November 9.

Speaking in Kolkata, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President mentioned that he expects England to suffer the same fate as New Zealand did recently. The Kiwis lost all three Tests in their series against Virat Kohli’s men.

“India are playing superb cricket. I am expecting another whitewash like the one against New Zealand. They (England) should be worried,” said Ganguly.

Just a few days ago, former England captain Michael Vaughan had also cautioned the English team about a possible whitewash.

India might be the number one Test team in the world currently, but they haven’t defeated England in a Test series since 2008. In fact, England are the only side to have beaten India in a Test series in India in the last 12 years.

In 2012, the Alastair Cook-led side came from behind and shocked the Indians to register their first series win in India in 28 years. The visitors, though, will miss the services of spinners Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar who played a big role in that victory.
