It was a tale of the same old for Pakistan as they were bowled out for 163 in their second innings and lost the second Test of their series against Australia by an innings and 18 runs at the MCG on Friday.
This loss came despite the visitors putting on a total of 443/9d in the first innings and after a lot of overs were lost due to rain over the course of the Test.
Earlier in the day, some quick runs from Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc helped Australia declare on 624/8 with a lead of 181 runs. On a flat track, there wasn’t much hope for a result with a little over two sessions left.
Pakistan, though, collapsed dramatically with the bat – a sight that has been far too common in the recent past. Starc was the star of the show for the Aussies, picking up figures of 4/36 while off-spinner Nathan Lyon grabbed three wickets.
Here, we look at the top tweets at the end of the match.

Lose 9 wickets in final session
Almost pull off biggest chase ever
Lose 9 wickets in final two sessions
A team that holds your attention for the most audacious run chase now does so for a disspirited effort. Pakistan are box-office!
