South Africa batsman Hashim Amla notched up his 25th ODI century during the ICC Champions Trophy match against Sri Lanka at The Oval on Saturday.

Amla, batting in his 151st innings, became the quickest to the mark in ODI cricket history. The record was previously held by India’s Virat Kohli who took 162 innings to get to 25 centuries in the 50-over format at international level.

Amla also now has the most ODI hundreds for any South African batsman, getting clear of AB de Villiers who has 24 three-digit scores in ODIs.

Now level with Kumar Sangakkara (25), only Sachin Tendulkar (49), Ricky Ponting (30), Sanath Jayasuriya (28), and Virat Kohli (27) have more ODI centuries than Amla.

Having played in 154 ODIs, Amla has 7135 runs to his name at a superb average of 50.60.

Here is a look at the five batsmen who got to 25 ODI centuries in the least number of innings.
