  • Return: Dwayne Bravo.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni thinks the return of Dwayne Bravo will rejuvenate the Chennai Super Kings T20 Champions League title aspirations.

On Monday, captain MS Dhoni said: "Having a balanced outfit, we have been bolstered further with the return of flamboyant all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, who will provide the extra nip to make Chennai Super Kings (CSK) go all out for the title in the Champions League T20."

Admitting that IPL and CLT20 were different from one another, Dhoni told reporters that the players had to adapt themselves to the shortest format of the game in order to perform to their potential.

Donning a new-look and appearing slimmer and fitter, he said that in addition to Bravo the team is further strengthened with the current form of Faf Du Plessis and Suresh Raina, who can add solidity to the batting line-up. These he said would come as factors that can help going about consolidating the balancing act to optimal levels.

“The composition looks imposing and quite strong. However, everything depends on the matchday and how the players perform. Moreover, changing to the T20 format from Test and ODIs can be quite tough," said Dhoni, who was accompanied by coach Stephen Fleming and Suresh Raina.

On the intricacies of the T20s, Dhoni said that unlike in the IPL, which was distinctly more popular, here they take to the field almost immediately. "One cannot sit together and draw strategies for a week or ten days because the event happens faster and the schedule is rather tight," he said.

On Kolkata Knight Riders, whom they take on here on Wednesday, the Team India captain said, "It is a very good team. We have played each other quite a few times.

"They are a good side and they have their own strength. Overall, most of the teams, in the CLT20 are excellent sides. They all have weaknesses though and we have to work accordingly."
