Gautam Gambhir grabbed the headlines as he guided Kolkata Knight Riders to their eight-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday.
The skipper scored his 33rd IPL half century to secure the win for his side after KXIP registered 170/9 in the first innings.
Gambhir raced to an unbeaten 72 from just 49 deliveries after Sunil Narine’s 37 from 18 balls laid the foundation for a successful chase.
Apart from his display with the bat, Gambhir also did well in the field, taking two catches, one of which he fumbled before recovering spectacularly to dismiss Varun Aaron.
