  • Another day in football, another wave of transfer rumours to keep up on. Take a look at the most recent names and gossip being floated around in the media.

Will any of the following deals happen?

    PHILIPPE COUTINHO

Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho but have yet to agree a fee with Liverpool, reports Mundo Deportivo via RAC1.

The Reds have already rejected an €80million offer and will apparently hold out for a fee closer to €100million.

    SPORT360 VERDICT

This summer has seen a spate of deals apparently agreed with players without the buying and parent clubs coming to a settlement.

Any deal will be much further away than the report suggests but there is talk Barca executives have flown into London to tie up the personal terms with Coutinho’s representatives before going back to Liverpool with a new offer.

However, given the Brazilian only signed a new deal to keep him at Anfield until 2022, one which is without a release clause, Liverpool are under no pressure to sell and will no doubt do all they can to hold off Barca given how crucial Coutinho is to their plans.

    KYLIAN MBAPPE

Manchester City are ready to beat Real Madrid to signing of Kylian Mbappe as Goal report they are in advanced talks with Monaco.

According to their sources, Madrid need to sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United before they can lodge a formal offer and City are hoping to beat them to the punch and sign the 18-year-old.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

With £160million the reported fee, it’s no wonder Madrid need to offset the balance books but it still seems momentum is with the Spanish and European champions after Marca reported yesterday they had a deal agreed in principle.

Mbappe is said to have signalled his desire to move to the Bernabeu after being given reassurances about his first-team opportunities but you can’t count City out and speed may be in their favour.

    VIRGIL VAN DIJK

Liverpool will sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk before the window shuts, according to Sky Sports.

The Reds ended their chase for the Dutchman last month following Saint’s complaint of an illegal approach but the player was left out of their pre-season tour to France after making his desire to leave clear.

    RATING: 8/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

The rumour never really died away even when Liverpool produced that staggering public apology to Saints.

It seems they are just waiting on the club to indicate when they can lodge a formal bid and with the player already stating his desire to join Jurgen Klopp’s ranks, it seems a formality.

As good as Van Dijk is, new boss Mauricio Pellegrino has already said he doesn’t keep an unsettled player against his wishes so a £70million outlay could get this deal done.
