    1) JAMES COLLINS (WEST HAM) – 7.52

The no-nonsense centre-half was an absolute rock for West Ham this week as they brushed aside Liverpool 2-0 at Upton Park and showed they are well and truly back on track.

Stopping the likes of Christian Benteke, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino is no small feat but Collins made light work of the opposition in a dominant display.

What Jurgen Klopp would do for a central defender as solid as Collins…

    2) ASHLEY YOUNG (MAN UTD) – 7.43

Manchester United were back on track this weekend and Ashley Young was back to his attacking best in a display that will have delighted the Old Trafford faithful.

Crying out for greater ambition and attacking intent, Young provided just that from his new found position at right-back.

Young’s superb ball supplied the opening goal for Anthony Martial and he was a constant threat as Swansea failed to put pressure on the makeshift full-back in the opposite direction.

Young (l) celebrates his assist for Martial.

    3) ALEXANDER TETTEY (NORWICH) – 7.43

The Ghana midfielder struck a superb winner for his side as they downed Southampton at home on Saturday and was instrumental throughout their 1-0 win at Carrow Road.

It was just Tettey’s second goal of the season, with both coming in his last four games.

If he continues to apply finishes such as this beauty then expect more goals to follow this season.

    4) JONNY HOWSON (NORWICH) – 7.41

Alongside Tettey was Howson, who helped to disable a Southampton midfield that eventually lost Victor Wanyama to a red card.

Howson controlled proceedings in the centre of the park, not giving his opposite numbers the time and space they desired.

He was unfortunate not to give his side the lead in the first half as the ball just failed to sit for Howson as he bore down on goal.

    5) ANTHONY MARTIAL ( MAN UTD) – 7.35

The Frenchman has been at the heart of United’s revival in the past two weeks, proving a lively threat to opposition defenders.

Against Swansea he backed this improvement up with a goal and an assist that delivered manager Louis van Gaal a very much needed three points.

Martial’s pace and trickery is a worry for any Premier League defender and if he can find consistency then United will not struggle for too much longer.
