There’s never been more uncertainty in Fantasy Premier League as the impact of Coronavirus is being felt across all sports.

At the time of writing, the Premier League fixtures are still going ahead but if you haven’t played your Free Hit Chip or Wild Card yet, now is not the time to do so with postponements looking increasingly likely.

In fact, it’s even worth banking your transfer for Gameweek 30 given that games could be cancelled and you’ll have wasted a move.

Assuming the games do go ahead as planned though, here are a few tips to help guide you through GW30.

    CAPTAIN – MARCOS ALONSO | CHELSEA | 6.1M

Frank Lampard deployed a three-man central defence and used wing-backs during the 2-1 victory over Tottenham in GW27 and has stuck with that system since.

Attacking left-back Marcos Alonso has predictably flourished in the new formation, scoring 30 points in the last three GWs with three goals and a clean sheet.

Chelsea take on a poor Aston Villa defence and the Spaniard will relish the prospect of facing right-back Frederic Guilbert who was run ragged by Harvey Barnes during their 4-0 defeat at Leicester in GW29.

With an ownership of under four per cent, Alonso could be a sensational differential captain.

    ALTERNATIVES

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (11.1m) failed to deliver in a 1-0 defeat to West Ham at home but will want to bounce back with Jamie Vardy pulling ahead in the race for the Golden Boot.

BRUNO FERNANDES (8.5m) has two goals and three assists in the last four GWs. His 11 chances created in that time is also the most in the league. Meanwhile, no team has conceded more shots than Tottenham’s 70 over the same period.

    BOLD CHOICE

PHIL FODEN (5.1m) has only started three Premier League games all season but that looks set to change after his performance in the League Cup final led to a start in the Manchester derby. With Kevin De Bruyne still a doubt, Foden could get the nod at home to Burnley. He averages a key pass every 35.5 minutes in the league.

    ONE TO GET

    DIOGO JOTA | WOLVES | 6.4M

With nine shots, three goals and two assists in the last three GWs, you could make a case for Diogo Jota being the most in-form forward in the Premier League at the moment. He takes on West Ham United away who are showing signs of life under David Moyes but have kept just one clean sheet since GW7.

    ONE TO AVOID

    AYOZE PEREZ | LEICESTER CITY | 6.2M

Ayoze Perez has had his moments in FPL this season but is hardly reliable after being benched twice in the last five games. He also has no attacking returns in that time. With Vardy returning to fitness and both Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes impressing, Perez may be spending more time on the bench.

    BARGAIN BUY

    VICENTE GUAITA | CRYSTAL PALACE | 5.1M

Vicente Guaita has kept clean sheets in each of the last three GWs. He’s also picked up maximum bonus points in the last two games and banked at least one save point in nine of his last 10 games.
