    OUSMANE DEMBELE

Barcelona have agreed personal terms to sign Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Demble, according to Bild.

The 20-year-old is determined to move to the Catalan side and fill the void left by Neymar following his world record transfer to PSG.

Dortmund’s concern is that they will not find a suitable replacement for Dembele by the end of the transfer window.

The Frenchman is believed to be keen on a move to Spain but is realistic that he may have to stay at Dortmund for another season – unless a transfer is forced through.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Definitely the best long term option for Barcelona as his ability to beat defenders with pace and purpose would add another element to Ernesto Valverde’s attack.

Although he has just two years of experience at senior level, it is unrealistic that Barcelona could expect him to play 50 games a season.

Dortmund may not want to lose a player of his calibre, but a €150 million fee would be difficult to withstand.

    ROSS BARKLEY

Chelsea have entered to market to sign Tottenham Hotspur target Ross Barkley, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Blues are considering a £25 million bid – half of what Everton valued him at earlier in the transfer window.

The England international did not feature during the Toffees pre-season campaign and has been trying to force a move away from Goodison Park after refusing to sign a new deal.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Barkley’s career at Everton is over so he needs to find a new club before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs have identified Barkley as a long-term replacement to the injury prone Mousa Dembele, but no concrete deal has been submitted yet.

With Chelsea seriously considering a move for the Everton academy product, a bid will need to be tabled soon.

If either of the clubs get the 23-year-old for £25 million, it will be the bargain buy of the summer.

    OMAR GABER

FC Basel have reportedly received an offer for Egyptian defender Omar Gaber from Spanish club Valencia, according to Filgoal.com.

A source close to the Egypt international told Filgoal.com that Gaber is considering the offer and will sit with Basel’s manager Raphael Wicky to discuss his options and his future.

Valencia’s offer is a one-year loan deal for Gaber, who moved to Basel last year from Cairene club Zamalek.

Should the move to Valencia take place, Gaber would be just the second Egyptian to play in La Liga, after his compatriot Mido, who had a stint at Celta Vigo.

    RATING: 5/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

With Chelsea and Tottenham both reportedly after Valencia’s right back Joao Cancelo, Gaber would be a suitable replacement for the Portuguese in that position.

But Gaber has not been in Europe for too long and considering the Spanish league hasn’t been home to many Egyptians, it’s hard to imagine Valencia would make a gamble like that.

Gaber is looking to succeed his compatriots Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny in using Basel as the gateway to one of Europe’s top five leagues. A move to the Mestalla is possible but not too likely.
