Left back: Diego Contento.

Bordeaux have snapped up left-back Diego Contento from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Contento, 24, has been a bit-part player at the Allianz Arena since emerging in 2009. He makes the switch to Ligue 1 after completing his medical yesterday.

“Once we targeted improving the left-back position, it became clear that Contento could be an interesting choice,” Bordeaux boss Willy Sagnol said. “We have a highly motivated player with a desire to show his true level.”

Keen to stay: Cazorla wants to stay at Arsenal following talk of a move to Atletico.

Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a return to Spain this summer.

According to reports, Cazorla has been a target of Primera Division champions Atletico Madrid but the Spain international insists he knows nothing more than has been suggested in the papers and is only focused on doing well with the Gunners.

When asked about the links to Atletico, the 29-year-old, who scored the opening goal in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Manchester City in Sunday's FA Community Shield, told Spanish radio Cadena Cope : "I've seen that in the papers, but nobody has told me anything personally and the only things I know are from the papers, so I don't know anything.

"I'm only focused on training here and preparing well playing with Arsenal. It's paper talk.

"I'm well, I have the confidence of everybody, the support of the fans and we hope to have a good season."

Cazorla joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 having previously played for Villarreal and Recreativo Huelva in his homeland.

On the move: Marin will spend a second season on-loan away from Chelsea.

Chelsea winger Marko Marin is undergoing a medical with Fiorentina with a view to joining the Serie A club on a season-long loan.

The 25-year-old German has made a limited impact at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Werder Bremen in 2012 and spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan with Sevilla.

A statement published through Fiorentina's official Twitter account on Monday said the player was in Florence to undergo medical examinations ahead of a prospective move to Florence.

Should Marin link up with the side that finished fourth in Serie A last term, his arrival will cast doubt on the long-term future of Fiorentina's right winger Juan Cuadrado, who has been linked to Manchester United and Barcelona.
