    SPINNEY’S DUBAI 92 CYCLE CHALLENGE BUILD-UP RACES

    Friday, November 28

The cycle season is upon us once more and to kick things off is the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge’s first build up ride taking place on Friday, November 28 at Al Qudra Cycling Track in Dubai.

The 35km build up ride is the perfect platform for those new to the sport, or for those that have been having a break from cycling during the hot summer to jump back on.

The popular cycle event consists of four build up rides which increase in distance each time to get cyclists prepared for the biggest challenge of the season – the 92km event in February 2021.

    SKECHERS PERFORMANCE RUN
Friday, November 20 and Friday, December 11

Dubai is gearing up for a major fun-packed day out for the whole family.

Under the Auspices of The Dubai Sports Council, the Skechers Performance Run starts off a series of six community races on November 20 at Dubai Ripe Market.

Open to all ages and abilities, the distance categories range from 2.5km – the ideal event for mum, dad and the kids – as well as the 5km and 10km challenges for the legion of dedicated UAE sporting runners.

Should you miss this race, there will be another before the year’s end, taking place at the same venue on December 11.

    URBAN-ULTRA MOUNT SANA
    Friday, December 11

One of the toughest and most enjoyable races in the region, the Urban-Ultra Mount Sana, is set to return on December 11 and will take place in the stunning mountains of the UAE.

The fully supported single-stage race, which features a choice of 10km, 21km and 60km distances to entrants, will see you navigate through rocky terrain – with an elevation profile of approximately 1000 metres in total – and over the spectacular mount passes of Fujairah.

This is a race not to be missed and based on the positive response from last year is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year.

    GARMIN QUEST 2020
    Friday, December 18

Dubai Sports Council, Hatta Adventures, Garmin and Arabian Epic have come together to create the exciting Garmin Quest race that guarantees a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the foothills of the Hajar Mountains.

The Garmin Quest will take participants on an adventure of biking across rugged mountainous terrain, trail running through some of the oldest inhabited lands in the UAE, and kayaking in the waters of Hatta Dam.

Billed as a triathlon with a difference, Garmin Quest is the region’s first long-distance adventure race based on mountain biking, trail running and kayaking, and it will take place on December 18.

Participants can only register as individuals, not as teams, and they can choose from two categories: the Challenger category, which is open to people aged 14 to 60, and the Explorer category that is open to people aged 17-60.

In the Challenger category, participants will run for a total distance of 5.5k, cycle for 13km and kayak 1km in six different stages. In the Explorer category, participants will run for a total of 10km, cycle for 27km and kayak for 1km.
