Oscar is set to move to the far east.

According to reports, Chelsea’s Brazil playmaker Oscar will make a £60m [Dh278.7m] move to the Chinese Super League in January.

Oscar has struggled for game time under new boss Antonio Conte and is believed to be ready to join up with former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas at Shanghai SIPG after the mammoth transfer was believed to be accepted on Tuesday.

If the move goes ahead once the transfer window reopens next month then the 25-year-old will become the most expensive player in Chinese football history as the CSL’s spending spree continues unabated.

The deal will eclipse the record £47m [Dh218.3m] that SIPG splashed out earlier this season on Oscar’s compatriot Hulk from Zenit St Petersberg.

Here are the 10 costliest transfers in CSL history, all of which have been sanctioned in the last two years.
