Zlatan Ibrahimovic has re-signed for Manchester United on a one-year contract, the club announced on Thursday.
The Swede scored 28 goals for the Reds last season but a serious knee injury saw him sit out the end of the campaign and he was released in the summer..
However, after making a remarkable recovery, the Premier League giants have given the 35-year-old a new contract.
With Wayne Rooney leaving Old Trafford to rejoin Everton this summer, Ibrahimovic will take over his vacant No10 shirt.

DENNIS VIOLLET | 1953-62
Dennis Viollet was one of the survivors of the tragic Munich air crash in February, 1958. He played a huge role in keeping the team going in the aftermath of the tragedy, scoring 32 goals in 36 appearances in the season following the crash.
Viollet was one of the first ‘Busby Babes’, making his debut in 1953 and went on to score 159 goals in 293 appearances for United.
GEORGE BEST | 1963-74
Everyone associates George Best with the iconic No7 shirt but he was also one of the clubs best players to wear the No10, just as he did the No11 and No8 on occasion.
Many consider the Irishman to be the best player to every play for United, some even think he was the best player of all-time, better than even Diego Maradona or Pele.
He scored 181 goals in 474 games for the Old Trafford outfit and humiliated many a defender in the process. His lifestyle choices cut his career at the club short but his legend lives on.
SIR BOBBY CHARLTON | 1956-73
Arguably the best United player of all-time in terms of longevity, success, ability and stature. Sir Bobby Charlton has been most linked with the No9 shirt but over a large period of his career, he played in the No10 and No8 shirts as well.
The World Cup winner scored 249 goals for United in 758 appearances, winning five major trophies with United.
TEDDY SHERINGHAM | 1997-2001
Teddy Sheringham was one of the most intelligent strikers in the game, so naturally he was brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson to help fill the Eric Cantona void in 1997.
He scored 46 goals in 145 games for United but it was his link-up play and creativity that set him apart. He also scored the famous late equaliser against Bayern Munich in Barcelona in the 1999 final, which United went on to win 2-1.
DAVID BECKHAM | 1992-2003
David Beckham is synonymous with the No7 shirt, but he briefly donned the No10 as well during his time at the club. In fact, he scored that famous goal against Wimbledon from the half-line while wearing the No10 shirt.
Beckham was part of the Class of 92′ that achieved so much success at the club. He scored 84 goals in 394 games for the Red Devils with a few glorious free-kicks among them.
LOU MACARI | 1973-84
Lou Macari was an all-action player who signed from Celtic in 1973, famously turning down Liverpool. He went on to score 97 goals in 404 games over 12 seasons at the club.
He helped get the club promoted back to the first division in 1975 and went on to lift the FA Cup in 1977.
MARK HUGHES | 1980-86 & 1988-95
Speaking of all-action players, here was another in Mark Hughes. Nicknamed ‘Sparky’, Hughes was arguably United’s most tenacious No10.
An aggressive striker who got about the pitch, was dominant in the air and scored some great goals, he scored 163 goals in 467 games split over two spells with the club.
RUUD VAN NISTELROOY | 2001-06
The Dutchman was a renowned goalscorer, going down as one of the club’s most prolific with 150 goals in just 210 appearances.
He was the complete striker and burst onto the English football scene with 36 goals in 49 matches in his first season, winning the PFA Player of the Year award in the process.
WAYNE ROONEY | 2004-17
Despite coming under heavy criticism over various stages of his United career, Wayne Rooney will go down as a club legend. He wore the No8 shirt when he first arrived but moved on to No10 a few years later.
With 253 goals in 559 appearances, the former United captain is the club’s all-time record goalscorer. His versatility, intelligence, explosiveness and work rate were among his best attributes as he won 16 major trophies at the club.
DENIS LAW | 1962-73
The Scot was the chief goalscorer in one of the best triumvirates in football that included Bobby Charlton and George Best. He scored an incredible 237 goals in 404 games for United.
