IN PICS: Eight times team-mates fought

There are some ugly examples.

You may not need to be best of friends to click on a football pitch but it does help your side’s cause if you can at least leave the arguments and fighting to somewhere well away from matchday.

Sometimes, however, players just aren’t able to contain themselves and in the heat of the moment, they lash out at each other.

The causes vary, whether frustrations from the game, arguments over who takes penalties and even be long standing rows that are tipped over the edge in the heat of battle.

Preston North End’s Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle succumbed to infighting this weekend as the duo broke out in a shoving match that saw both men sent off.

Here is that Beckford-Doyle bust-up in all its, ahem, “glory”…

It got us thinking as to who else had serious beef despite playing in the same colours so we put together this gallery as a reference.

For the kids out there looking on, this is how NOT to behave on a football pitch.
