The second leg of the Legends are Back series between Manchester United and Barcelona saw the two sides play out a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Coupled with United Legends’ 3-1 win at the Nou Camp in June, the result means the United old boys took the tie 5-3 on aggregate.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Danny Weber scored for the hosts, while Luis Garcia and Gaizka Mendieta scored two late goals to bring Barcelona Legends back from a 2-0 deficit.

Along win Van Nistelrooy, Edwin Van der Sar and Park Ji-Sung were among the United fan favourites who once again walked out onto the Old Trafford turf, while Patrick Kluivert and Edgar Davids were part of the Barca legends’ side.

Andy Cole managed the United side and ex-Spain defender Albert Ferrer took the reigns for the Barcelona team.

The two-legged tie followed on from similar charity matches United Legends sides played against Real Madrid in 2013 and Bayern Munich in 2015.

Proceeds from Saturday’s match went to the Manchester United foundation, which raised a total of over £1.8 million from the previous two editions.

Both teams commemorated recent terrorist attacks in both Manchester and Barcelona with a minute’s silence before the match.
