India’s Ravichandran Ashwin continues to hold a healthy lead over Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath at the top of the ICC Test rankings for bowlers. The Indian off-spinner has held the top position since the conclusion of the India-New Zealand Test series in October.

Despite missing two Tests in South Africa’s Test series in Australia, Dale Steyn is the highest-ranked fast bowler, coming in at third spot with 844 points to his name.

Steyn is closely followed by England’s James Anderson in fourth. The 34-year-old English pacer didn’t have the best of times in the third Test against India at Mohali, ending the match wicketless.

Josh Hazlewood has broken into the top five of the rankings for the first time after his impressive performance against South Africa in the day/night Test at Adelaide where he picked up six wickets.

New Zealand’s Neil Wagner has made a comeback into the top ten after his six-wicket match haul against Pakistan at Hamilton. The left-arm fast bowler has enjoyed a fabulous 2016, notching up 41 wickets in nine Tests at an average of 21.04.
