In the IPL 2017 auction, England’s Ben Stokes was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants [RPS] for INR 14.5 crore, which is a record for any overseas cricketer in the league.

It also means that Stokes is the second most expensive player in the tournament, only India’s Virat Kohli in front of him.

Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore [RCB], Kohli gets a salary of INR 15 crore.

RPS’s MS Dhoni and SunRisers Hyderabad’s Shikhar Dhawan follow Kohli and Stokes as the joint third-highest paid players in the IPL, both earning INR 12.5 crore per season.
