  • This morning, Real Madrid have lost vital ground on Barcelona in the La Liga title chase as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Malaga.

Ronaldo was on the score sheet for Real but his missed penalty enabled Malaga to hold on for a point which means Barcelona are now well and truly clear as they close in on the league title.

Atletico Madrid were also held to a draw, only managing a point at home to Villareal, whilst Gary Neville’s turnaround in fortunes continues at Valencia as his side picked up their third straight victory against Granada.

Manchester City have crashed out of the FA Cup, after losing 5-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. `City fielded a weaker side than normal with five teenagers making their debuts as they have one eye on the Champions League this week. The win means Chelsea will now face Everton in the quarter-finals.

Chelsea boss, Guus Hiddink remains unbeaten in the FA Cup.

Novak Djokovic will begin his Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships campaign today, starting against Tommy Robredo on Center Court not before 7pm. Djokovic is aiming for his fifth title in Dubai.

Finally, Alessandro del Piero has posted a picture of his ‘Global Legends’ team-mates. Most of the superstars in football you can think of on in there.
