  • Pakistan Super League chairman Najam Sethi says the event fully supports international star Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) chairman Najam Sethi is fully behind Pakistan paceman Mohammad Amir after his recent return to international cricket and is expecting the 23-year-old to be a star for the Karachi Kings in the inaugural Twenty20 tournament which kicks off in the UAE next month.

At the launch of the short-form cricket extravaganza in Dubai, Sethi told Sport360: “He (Amir) served his punishment, the ICC has given him a clean sheet.

“He’s a good player and the idea was not to throw him out of cricket altogether but the idea was in a sense he should become an ambassador teaching the right lessons to youngsters because he made a mistake. He’s doing that, he’s on the mend, he’s a great cricketer and he has our support.”

Karachi Kings PSL owner Salman Iqbal also revealed that having Amir among the ranks in his side has boosted the commercial impact around the team.
