  • The Cleveland Cavaliers scored a NBA record 25 3-pointers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were in record-breaking long-range shooting form in their 123-98 defeat of the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA play-offs.

The Cavs poured in 25 three-pointers – a new NBA record – as they took a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference second round contest.

JR Smith got seven of the them in his 23-point haul, with LeBron James (27) and Kyrie Irving (19) also impressing with four each against a Hawks side for whom Paul Millsap (16) led the scoring.

The hosts had three figures up in the third quarter at Quicken Loans Arena on the way to beating Atlanta for a ninth successive game.
